Talk and Conference Recordings

We are pleased to announce that with the migration of the site to a faster server with more storage space, we are now able to host recordings of talks, conferences, and lectures of interest to the community.

If you are interested in using the service, or already have suitable content, please contact the online editors at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

We can as well support you in the final editing of the videos, such as cutting individual contributions, overlaying logos, recoding of formats etc.

Please note the following guidelines

  • If the presentation file is available on the net for download (or can be made available here), we recommend a resolution of 480p, with focus on the speaker.
  • If the presentation file is not available, we recommend 720p with focus on the presentation screen.
  • As video format, we prefer an mp4 container with H.264 compression inside, this is one of the most standard setups these days.

However, these are recommendations only, videos in other formats can as well be made available; either directly or we can re-code them to one of the above formats. We will as well recode 720p to 480p to offer an alternative for lower bandwidth connections, or when to many streams are being downloaded at the same time.

Videos for which both high and low resolution formats are available will by default be started in low resolution, you can switch to high on the right side of the video playback ("HD is off" or "HD is on"). High definition video should normally work fine, but in times of high load, for instance right after announcement of new conference recordings, waiting gaps might be avoided by watching the low resolution. If you have problems, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; we constantly strive to improve this service and make it as accessible as we can.

Important: If you want to publish a recording, please make sure you have the permission of the speaker.
